Deadline: 03-Sep-2025
The European Commission has opened a Call for Proposals to support Civil Society Organisations through funding from two thematic programmes: CSO-LA and Human Rights & Democracy (HR&D). These proposals aim to strengthen local civil society organisations so they can function independently in governance and development.
The main objective for Lots 1 and 2 is to build the capacity of grassroots CSOs in governance, accountability, inclusivity, and participation in domestic policy. This includes improving institutional, operational, advocacy, financial, and human resource capacities, as well as sector-specific areas like peace and security.
Priority will be given to actions that support community-based CSOs with operational growth, enhance local capacity for advocacy in peace, gender equality, and youth inclusion, and empower girls and women by advancing economic and social rights.
Lot 3 under the Human Rights & Democracy programme focuses on promoting human rights, democracy, and the rule of law globally. It aims to ensure the enjoyment of all human rights and strengthen the ability of independent civil society actors to address gender equality and women’s empowerment.
This lot prioritizes protecting and empowering individuals and improving the resilience and effectiveness of civil society in advocacy and public awareness to advance gender-related issues.
Eligible sectors for the proposed actions include good governance, human rights, gender equality, drug abuse prevention, peacebuilding, conflict resolution, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihoods.
The total available funding for this call is EUR 663,000. For Lot 1, grants range from EUR 220,000 to EUR 233,000. Lot 2 grants range from EUR 200,000 to EUR 210,000, and Lot 3 grants range from EUR 200,000 to EUR 220,000.
Projects must last between 24 and 40 months. Applicants must be legal, non-profit civil society organisations or their associations, established in Guyana or an EU Member State. They should have grassroots experience and be directly responsible for implementing and managing the proposed actions.
