Deadline: 01-Sep-2025
The G. Murray and Edna Forbes Foundation, managed by the South Saskatchewan Community Foundation, is accepting applications for both project-based and operating grants.
Grants are available for initiatives in several priority areas, including arts and culture, education, and the environment. Environmental projects may focus on reducing carbon emissions, cutting pollution, supporting clean energy transitions, preserving or restoring habitats, or promoting environmental education.
Other funding priorities include health, particularly mental health and addiction-related programs, homelessness and affordable housing, Indigenous programming, poverty reduction, and youth-focused initiatives.
Applicants may request funding between $5,000 and $35,000. To be eligible, organizations must be registered charities or qualified donees as defined under the Income Tax Act of Canada. Groups that are not qualified donees must partner with one and include a letter of endorsement.
Grants will not be awarded for operating or capital deficits, endowment creation, investments, retroactive expenses, individual applicants, political activities, ongoing or multi-year projects, or where the benefit goes to a specific individual.
