Deadline: 10-Nov-2025
The Robin Rigg Community Fund is offering an important opportunity for community groups and organisations in the Solway area to access financial support for projects that strengthen local communities and address climate change.
The fund is open to a wide range of initiatives, from environmental and renewable energy schemes to educational and community development projects. By investing in both capital and revenue activities, it aims to promote sustainable development and deliver long-term benefits for local people.
Organisations can apply for grants of up to £15,000. Funding decisions will be announced in January 2026, and successful applicants will receive their grants in February, provided projects are ready to begin. All funds must be spent by the end of December 2026, ensuring timely delivery and impact.
The fund welcomes applications from voluntary and community organisations, registered charities, constituted groups and clubs, social enterprises, schools, parish and community councils, and not-for-profit companies. Eligible projects must operate within designated areas across Dumfries & Galloway and Cumbria, covering a wide range of local councils and communities.
To qualify, projects should focus on key priorities such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, environmental protection, community amenities, charitable causes, or educational initiatives. However, funding cannot be used to benefit individuals, promote political or religious purposes, replace existing public sector funding, or support activities that contradict the aims of energy conservation and sustainability.
Applicants will be required to provide supporting documentation, including governing documents, financial statements, safeguarding policies where applicable, and evidence of community support. Quotations for equipment or services must also be included to demonstrate transparency and value for money.
This fund presents an excellent opportunity for local organisations to bring forward ideas that make a real difference to their communities. With its strong focus on sustainability, energy efficiency, and community benefit, the Robin Rigg Community Fund is well-placed to empower local action and deliver positive change across the Solway region.
