Deadline: 25-Jul-2025
The United Nations Development Programme Myanmar, together with the Istanbul International Centre for Private Sector Development (ICPSD), is launching the Frontier Tech Leaders Programme. This initiative aims to cultivate a new generation of tech specialists who can create digital solutions for Least Developed Countries and strengthen local capacity to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
In Myanmar, the program focuses on closing digital skills gaps, enhancing innovation and productivity, promoting inclusive digital transformation, and building strong partnerships between graduates and private sector companies looking to recruit talent.
To effectively reach and support beneficiaries, especially in local communities, the UNDP Myanmar Country Office seeks a local education partner with on-the-ground expertise.
The partner’s responsibilities include coordinating and facilitating meetings with private tech companies interested in partnering with the program. These companies may provide mentorship, paid internships, or employment opportunities for program graduates.
They will also develop and implement a localized communications and awareness strategy to attract potential students across Myanmar. The primary focus will be young women aged 18-24, with those aged 24-34 as a secondary priority group. This outreach will support recruitment for bootcamps and community events.
The partner will provide two physical classroom spaces—one in Yangon and one in Mandalay. Each classroom must accommodate at least 10 students, offering reliable internet access for five hours per week to attend online training and group study.
Additionally, the partner will organize and manage five half-day community events held simultaneously in Yangon and Mandalay regions.
The program duration runs from July 18 to December 31, 2025.
Deliverables include an inception report two weeks after contract signing, detailing the work plan, potential tech company partners, and the communications strategy. A progress report will follow two months after signing, covering meetings with companies, communications outreach, and classroom usage. A final report will be due by December 31, summarizing all activities, including community events and recommendations for future engagement.
The program’s activities will take place primarily in Yangon, Mandalay, Sagaing regions, and other areas in Myanmar as agreed upon with UNDP.
