Deadline: 08-Sep-2025
The City of Greater Geelong is inviting applications for its Arts Projects Grants program, which supports artists, creatives, and the cultural sector in developing new work that fosters creative expression connected to local people, stories, and places. The program aims to grow arts and culture in Greater Geelong, engage the community, and deliver on the City’s Arts and Cultural Strategy 2021–2031. It seeks to build awareness of First Nations culture, encourage collaboration across artforms and industries, increase inclusive community participation, celebrate local stories through high-quality practice, support creative activities in diverse locations, and enhance Geelong’s reputation as a creative city.
Applicants can request up to $10,000 from a total funding pool of $100,000. Projects must be within the municipality and may include temporary immersive installations, cross-disciplinary collaborations, experimental or innovative work in unique spaces, community participation initiatives, technology-based creative projects, and storytelling that strengthens connections to place and culture. Existing activities may also be funded if they are being expanded, enhanced, or approached in a new way.
Eligible expenses include venue hire, contractor and artist fees, materials, equipment, publicity, inclusion and access costs, as well as documentation and evaluation. The grant is open to incorporated not-for-profits, unincorporated groups with an auspice, registered charities, businesses, and sole traders with an active ABN. Schools, individuals without an ABN, applicants with outstanding acquittals, those who have not complied with past funding agreements, and entities facing insolvency, bankruptcy, or legal disputes with the City are not eligible to apply.
