Deadline: 19-Aug-2025
The Community Food Relief Program – Local Grants is designed to support local food relief and food security initiatives across Victoria. It focuses on helping more people access healthy and culturally appropriate food while strengthening community-based responses to growing food insecurity.
This program aims to address increasing demand for food relief, improve the effectiveness and reach of community food efforts, and begin tackling the underlying causes of food insecurity. It also seeks to support people in accessing broader services like financial wellbeing and food education, where relevant.
Grant amounts range from a minimum of $15,000 to a maximum of $100,000. Funding can support a wide range of activities, including the purchase or installation of equipment, kitchen or food storage upgrades, sourcing of food and packaging supplies, and delivery costs such as staffing, training, and community engagement. Strategic planning, network-building, and volunteer support are also eligible.
Applicants must be based in Victoria or serve cross-border Victorian communities and hold a current ABN. Eligible entities include not-for-profit organisations registered as charities or incorporated associations, Aboriginal incorporated entities, and social enterprises focused on food relief or food security.
Ineligible applicants include for-profit businesses, sole traders, individuals, and charitable trusts.
