Deadline: 31-Jul-2025
Faversham Town Council has opened its Community Grants program to support various organisations, projects, and activities that benefit local residents. The aim is to provide financial assistance to initiatives that deliver valuable services within the community.
Grants can be awarded in varying amounts, ranging from £50 to £5,000. All applications must meet specific eligibility criteria before being considered.
Organisations must be properly constituted and demonstrate sound financial management and controls. They are required to present audited accounts or recent financial records to confirm accountability through elected or delegated managers, trustees, or members.
Applicants must also show evidence of efforts to secure funding from other sources. The Council considers whether other funding bodies have been approached or have already contributed but may still choose to provide funding regardless of other support.
Repeat applications within the same year or over several years may be declined to ensure fairness in grant distribution.
In addition to core criteria, applicants may be asked to demonstrate a clear local need or demand for their project or activity. The proposal should offer direct benefits to the residents of Faversham, and in some cases, the grant may prevent the loss or reduction of a critical service.
Projects that clearly fall under the responsibility of other statutory agencies, such as hospitals, schools, or parish councils, may not be eligible for funding.
