Deadline: 05-Sep-2025
The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund is inviting civil society organizations (CSOs) to express interest in a powerful initiative aimed at empowering adolescent girls and boys across Kyrgyzstan through school-based media production and digital campaigns.
The program targets approximately 240 adolescents in 45 schools across various regions, including Osh Oblasty, Jalal-Abad, Naryn, Batken, Talas, Gorod Bishkek, and others.
This cross-sectoral initiative focuses on communication for development, gender equality, youth participation, and capacity building. The goal is to equip school-aged youth, especially girls, with media production skills while promoting their voices on issues that matter to them. Each participating school will establish a small media group, made up of five to six students, with a commitment to ensuring at least 60% female participation.
The selected CSOs will support these media groups in researching relevant social topics using both online tools and expert interviews. Guided by bloggers and influencers, the adolescents will receive hands-on training in ethical storytelling, content creation, and campaign planning. They will then conceptualize and produce their own media materials—such as videos, podcasts, reels, and infographics—to drive awareness and engagement on youth-related issues.
These campaigns will be launched both in schools and communities, with an outreach goal of at least 10,000 peers. The content will be promoted across popular platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Telegram, and YouTube, ensuring accessibility and resonance with young audiences. CSOs will also be responsible for monitoring engagement and gathering feedback to refine outreach strategies.
The scope of work includes mentoring youth in content research, leading media production workshops, ensuring inclusive representation, and organizing events to showcase the content. Additionally, partners will collect data on participation and audience engagement throughout the campaign period.
Interested organizations must demonstrate a strong track record in working with adolescents, digital media, and creative campaign development. Experience in ethical research practices, collaboration with influencers, and prior work with UNICEF or other UN agencies will be advantageous. A robust community presence in one or more of the eight target areas is essential.
Deliverables will include at least five campaigns per school, comprehensive documentation of activities, and regular narrative reports detailing outcomes, insights, and challenges. The implementation timeline runs from October 2025 to May 2027, with a funding allocation of $120,000 to support the initiative.
This is an opportunity to elevate youth voices, promote gender equity, and create lasting social impact through creative digital expression and community engagement.
