The Greggs Foundation Community Grants Programme provides funding to local organisations working to address challenges in their communities. These grants aim to support initiatives that directly meet community needs, offer food and assistance to individuals, reduce social isolation, and help people build knowledge, confidence, and opportunities.
Organisations can receive up to £20,000 per year for a maximum of two years. This funding is intended to support projects that have a lasting, positive impact within local areas.
To apply, organisations must be not-for-profit with an annual income between £25,000 and £1,000,000. They must have at least one full set of annual accounts, be delivering services for more than a year, and operate within the specified geographical focus areas for each funding round.
Applicants must also show less than six months’ worth of free reserves in their most recent accounts. These reserves do not include fixed assets and must be free to reallocate. Eligible organisations must have a minimum of three unrelated trustees or directors, a safeguarding policy in place, and be fully independent.
The programme does not accept applications from animal charities, friends of associations, local branches of national charities, or organisations that primarily promote religion. It also excludes schools, colleges, and larger organisations with substantial fundraising capabilities.
