Deadline: 16-Jul-2025
The HelpMum is hosting a Maternal Health Hackathon, inviting individuals from the tech community, especially students and recent graduates, to develop innovative projects addressing critical challenges faced by Nigerian mothers and infants. The event aims to foster innovation for social good, so all projects must promote social impact and serve the public interest.
Prizes include 2 million naira for first place, 1.5 million naira for second, and 1 million naira for third. Any code, design, documentation, or intellectual property created during the Hackathon must be freely available for public use and cannot be restricted for commercial purposes. By submitting a project, participants agree to make their work publicly accessible and allow HelpMum to modify and use it for public benefit.
Participants also grant the organizers and sponsors a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use and promote their submissions in media and promotional materials. Entrants must ensure their submissions do not include content protected by third-party rights or confidentiality obligations and permit the organizers to use their content for the Hackathon’s intended purposes.
The Hackathon is open to Nigerians proficient in technology, software development, and AI, with special consideration for students and new graduates. Participants of all genders must be at least 18 years old and register individually or as teams before the event begins. The organizers reserve the right to determine eligibility and may disqualify entries that violate laws, contain inappropriate content, or conflict with the event’s or sponsors’ brand image.
Submissions will be judged on innovation, social impact, technical execution, and cost-efficiency, including the sustainability of the proposed solutions.
