Deadline: 29-Aug-2025
The Horizons Regional Council is offering Freshwater Community Grants to financially support community projects that focus on freshwater. A total of $200,000 is available, and the funds will be distributed through a competitive selection process among the successful applicants.
Eligible applicants include non-profit organisations such as community groups, schools, early childhood education centres, individuals or landowners, and iwi/hapū groups. All projects must be not-for-profit and based within the Horizons region. Preference will be given to applicants who also reside within the region.
Projects should have a strong focus on freshwater and may include initiatives that improve education or increase community enjoyment of freshwater environments. Education-focused projects should show how they will raise community awareness and lead to better freshwater outcomes. Projects that enhance enjoyment should explain the benefits to the wider community.
Innovative and original ideas are encouraged and will be viewed favourably during the selection process.
