Deadline: 30-Sep-2025
The Lanark County Community Climate Grant program provides up to $5,000 to non-profit community-based organizations in Lanark County to support climate-related projects.
The guiding principles of the Lanark County Climate Action Plan include: create a climate conscious culture and community, eliminate fossil fuels, optimize energy/water efficiency and increase renewable energy generation, advance the use of nature-based solutions in climate change management, sustainably manage waste towards a circular economy, collaborate with community stakeholders, and increase funding, accessibility, and education.
Applicants must demonstrate how their projects align with at least one of the guiding principles and ensure that activities are completed within 2025. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis until funding is expended, with the submission deadline set for September 30, 2025.
Eligible applicants are organizations that provide services or programs to residents of Lanark County. Unincorporated individuals or organizations may participate by partnering with an incorporated organization that will manage the funds. To qualify, organizations must have been in operation for at least one year and may submit only one application per year.
Grants will not be issued to cover deficits or debts, replace current funding, provide endowment funds, support religious, sectarian or political purposes, support individuals, provide fundraising money, cover recurring operating expenses, fund already completed projects, or serve as 100% of a budget activity.
Applications must include a project overview detailing goals, objectives, timelines, and evaluation methods, along with an applicant profile covering the mission and experience of the organization. Projects should demonstrate climate and environmental benefits, alignment with guiding principles, community collaboration, and a sound financial plan.
