Music for All is offering financial support to both individuals and community projects through several themed grant categories. These grants aim to promote music education and engagement, particularly in marginalized or deprived communities. Projects must demonstrate how music is used to support participants and explain how the funding will help remove barriers to participation.
One of the available categories supports initiatives that address physical mobility or accessibility needs, mental health, loneliness, isolation, and choral group development. Applicants should show previous examples of how their project uses music and outline the impact funding would have.
There is also support available for community groups or schools working with early years children aged 0–4. Projects in this category should also be based in deprived areas and use music as a tool for development. Caring settings and choirs are eligible to apply.
Groups using entry-level descant recorders in beginner music education can apply for a recorder and music pack. This includes materials like “Walking in the Air” sheet music and is intended to help build foundational music experiences in communities with limited access.
Grants of up to £2,000 are available for most categories, supporting efforts that bring music into the lives of those who might otherwise go without. Applicants must be UK residents for at least three years and either be British citizens or have indefinite leave to remain in the UK. Community organizations must be registered in the UK and operate within the country.
Applications are evaluated based on need, and due to high demand, full funding is not guaranteed. Music for All encourages applicants to also seek support from other sources, such as Help Musicians UK.
Grants are not available for expenses already incurred or purchases made before approval. Applications from outside the UK are ineligible, and any changes in funding status or purchases after submission must be reported.
