Deadline: 04-Nov-2025
Nature Connect has been appointed as a facility to issue small grants on behalf of the Table Mountain Fund (TMF) to facilitate and support the entry of new organisations and individuals into the conservation sector.
The grant focuses on improving the locally indigenous environment, upskilling under-resourced communities in the green economy, and empowering youth and women through awareness and education. Funding priorities include biodiversity enhancement through activities such as clean-ups, habitat restoration and indigenous planting; sustainable livelihoods through recycling initiatives, capacity building, and upskilling in the green economy; environmental education and awareness within under-resourced communities; and integrated projects that combine two or more of these focus areas.
Grants of up to R36,000 are available per project, and each organisation may submit only one application. Projects must be based in the greater Cape Town area within the Cape Floristic Region and demonstrate a strong link between community participation and conservation.
Applications are encouraged from new organisations entering the conservation sector, especially those enhancing community, youth, and female participation. Registered NPOs in good standing will be considered if they are proposing a new project. Individuals or community groups wishing to establish themselves in the conservation space, particularly from under-resourced communities, are also encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously received funding from Nature Connect.
