The New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) community-based stream is a federal grant that supports projects designed by seniors and for seniors in their communities.
The focus of the program is on projects that are led by seniors and are volunteer based, with the objective of empowering seniors in their communities through increased social inclusion.
Through this program, eligible organizations can apply for up to $25,000 in funding for initiatives that directly involve seniors in planning and implementation. The application period is currently open from August 6, 2025, to September 17, 2025, at 3:00 pm Eastern Daylight Time.
The program is designed to strengthen the role of seniors in community life by encouraging their leadership and volunteer contributions. By providing resources for initiatives that foster participation and engagement, the NHSP aims to create more inclusive environments where seniors can remain active and connected.
