The Auckland Council is pleased to launch a funding call for the Devonport-Takapuna Local Grant Program.

Funding Priorities
The Council welcomes grant applications that align to the following priorities:
- The natural environment, heritage features and cultural taonga are celebrated, protected, and enhanced.
- Support the sports clubs and recreation facilities.
- The parks, sports fields, community facilities, beaches and open spaces are well maintained to meet the recreation and social needs of the growing population.
- The communities, including mana whenua, feel connected and supported to plan, deliver, and participate in activities and services in their local area.
- The vibrant town centres attract and support new and existing businesses, and give locals and visitors opportunities to work, shop and play.
- The unique Maori history, values and stories are told, celebrated, and embedded into the area.

Eligible Priorities
- Higher priority for eligibility
- Community Match Fund (groups who demonstrate that 40 per cent of project costs have already been met, including the approximate value provided by volunteer contribution to projects, events and /or initiatives)
- Projects that demonstrate smokefree and zero waste programmes.
- New and innovative projects/activities to support the delivery of the outcomes and priorities identified in the Local Board grant programme.
- Applicants who have considered other sources of funding for their project.
- Projects that are inclusive and support under-represented members of the community.
- Projects/activities with Maori outcomes.
- Projects which support community resilience and recovery, in response to the COVID-19 crisis.
- Lower priority for eligibility
- They will also consider applications for other services, projects and activities, however they may identify them as lower priorities:
- Events which clearly benefit the region rather than just the local area, and which can, therefore, apply for regional or central government grants.
- Event management costs.
- Groups and/or activities taking place outside the local board area, unless the applicant can clearly demonstrate the benefit to local board members.
- Catering.
- Commercial events or events that promote a brand or company.
- Events that raise money for third party fundraising.
- Grants to support the purchase of assets and/or equipment with limited future use.
- Applications where the applicant has considerable cash reserves, relative to the amount applied for, unless the applicant can verify that the reserves are required or tagged for a specific project.
