Deadline: 21-Aug-2025
The Fair Housing Organizations Initiative (FHOI) has announced funding opportunities under the Fair Housing Initiatives Program. The purpose is to strengthen the ability of organizations to carry out fair housing enforcement and related activities that support the enforcement of rights under the Fair Housing Act.
The goal of the program is to expand and improve fair housing enforcement across the United States. The aim is to ensure that all individuals have access to quality, affordable housing without facing discrimination.
This funding opportunity offers support under two components. The Continued Development Component (CDC) is available to eligible nonprofit fair housing organizations. It focuses on enhancing their capacity to investigate housing discrimination complaints, build testing expertise, and operate in underserved areas where many members of protected classes live.
The Establishing New Organizations Component (ENOC) is for Qualified Fair Housing Enforcement Organizations (QFHOs) that wish to sponsor the creation of new, independent fair housing organizations. These newly established groups will work in regions that currently lack sufficient fair housing enforcement and will engage in activities such as testing and investigations.
A total of approximately $3,700,000 is available through this notice. For the CDC, funding ranges from $100,000 to a maximum of $260,000 for a performance period of 12 to 18 months. For the ENOC, grants range from $250,000 to a maximum of $1,880,000 for a performance period of 36 months.
Faith-based organizations are eligible to apply and are treated the same as any other applicant. However, individuals are not eligible for this funding.
