The Office on Violence Against Women has announced the FY 2025 Disability Grant Program to support organizations addressing the needs of individuals with disabilities who are victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking.
The focus areas, objectives, priorities, and themes include creating sustainable change within and between organizations that improves the response to individuals with disabilities and Deaf individuals who are victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking, increasing organizational capacity to provide accessible, safe, and effective services to individuals with disabilities and Deaf individuals, identifying needs within organizations and developing a plan to address them, supporting a collaborative and coordinated approach to enhancing services for individuals with disabilities, promoting effective intervention and prevention strategies, ensuring accessibility of programs, services, and facilities, increasing the knowledge and skills of service providers, supporting community-based responses that are culturally specific, and increasing the participation of individuals with disabilities in planning, implementation, and evaluation of program activities.
This grant program provides funding to support partnerships between victim service providers, disability service providers, and other relevant organizations. Applicants are encouraged to propose activities that will lead to lasting system changes and improvements that ensure safe and accessible services for people with disabilities. Projects are expected to emphasize collaboration, sustainability, and the active participation of individuals with disabilities in shaping solutions that directly impact their safety and wellbeing.
Eligible applicants include states, units of local government, Indian tribal governments, nonprofit organizations, and victim service providers. Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to collaborative approaches and to building capacity to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities and Deaf individuals.
Funding available under this program will be awarded competitively. Successful applicants must comply with all reporting requirements and demonstrate measurable progress in addressing barriers and expanding services for people with disabilities who are victims of violence.
