Deadline: 29-Aug-2025
Uttlesford District Council is inviting applications for the One-off Community Grant Programme, which offers small grants up to £500 and larger grants between £501 and £3,000. The funding supports projects aligned with the priorities in the council’s Corporate Plan 2023–27, with extra consideration given to projects that collaborate with town and parish councils, community groups, or the voluntary sector.
Grants are available for up to one year and can cover a wide range of eligible project costs. Applicants must be non-profit, constituted organisations with a bank account requiring at least two unrelated signatories. Funding cannot be awarded retrospectively, nor will it support activities promoting religious or political beliefs, capital expenditure, or projects already funded for the same purpose in Uttlesford.
Applications must include mandatory documents such as a constitution or operating document, a business plan if available, a project expenditure spreadsheet, the most recent annual report and accounts, current insurance details, a Health and Safety policy, a safeguarding policy, relevant DBS numbers for staff, and a safeguarding risk assessment. Additional requirements apply for projects involving children, young people, or vulnerable adults.
Successful applicants must complete their projects within agreed timeframes. Funding is usually released after work is done or in staged payments tied to agreed milestones. All funded projects must comply with the Equalities Act 2010, and organisation membership must be open to all without exclusions.
The application deadline is midday on Friday, 29 August 2025. Applicants are encouraged to include supporting comments from relevant town or parish councils where appropriate.
