Deadline: 31-Aug-2025
The Circular Head Council is now accepting applications for its Community Grants Program. This program is designed to support not-for-profit organisations based in Circular Head that are working to enhance community life through targeted and meaningful projects. Funding is available across various categories, including community development, community facilities, cultural heritage, community events, cultural development, and sport, recreation, and healthy living.
The grants aim to support initiatives that promote social inclusion, reduce isolation, value diversity, improve mental health, and encourage innovation, access, and community safety. Projects that foster collaboration, increase engagement, celebrate diversity, and encourage volunteerism are also eligible.
Events that build local event management capacity, contribute to the local economy, promote cultural participation, and follow environmental best practices are supported. Projects should aim to create inclusive, connected, and vibrant communities.
Community facility projects should help build safe and healthy communities by providing accessible, well-maintained spaces for social interaction. These projects must also consider access and equity and address compliance and safety standards.
In cultural development, the focus is on supporting creative skills, engaging the wider community, revitalising programs, and supporting emerging artists in meaningful and innovative ways. Cultural heritage projects should aim to preserve the history and unique lifestyle of Circular Head, highlight Aboriginal culture, and collaborate with other heritage groups to protect local heritage.
For sport, recreation, and healthy living, the program supports projects that promote physical activity, healthy eating, inclusive participation, and general wellbeing.
Funding is available in three categories: Major Grants of up to $3,000, Minor Grants of up to $1,000, and Special Interest Grants of up to $4,000 for targeted community priorities.
Eligible applicants must be not-for-profit organisations or associations that operate within or benefit the Circular Head local government area. They must be incorporated or under the auspice of an incorporated body, be financially viable, have no outstanding debts with the Council, and follow appropriate insurance and workplace health and safety standards. Organisations that have failed to properly acquit past Council grants or are government departments applying for core business support are not eligible to apply.
