Deadline: 12-Nov-2025
The Road Safety Event Grants aim to enhance road safety awareness and understanding through the support of community-driven initiatives that promote safer road use and responsible driver behaviour.
The program focuses on contributing to increased road safety awareness and understanding by supporting community advocacy to promote safer road use and driver behaviour and share road safety information to make every journey safe.
Community groups can apply for an Event Grant to implement road safety activities and promotions at community-attended events. Each grant offers funding of up to $5,000 (excluding GST) per event, allowing organisations to conduct impactful activities that engage the public in discussions and demonstrations about safe driving practices. The initiative encourages collaboration and outreach to spread vital road safety messages within local communities.
Eligibility for the Event Grants includes incorporated not-for-profit community groups and clubs, Western Australian local governments, health organisations, schools, service clubs, youth development groups, and organisations or groups that encourage active community participation in the planning and implementation of road safety programs. These entities are encouraged to apply if they are committed to promoting community safety through education and awareness.
The program does not fund unincorporated organisations, profit-making organisations, private businesses, research organisations, state government agencies, or individuals. Additionally, projects that already receive funding from the Road Safety Commission or duplicate services provided by other agencies are ineligible. This ensures that funding is directed toward fresh, community-led efforts that bring meaningful impact and innovation to road safety advocacy.
By providing financial support to grassroots initiatives, the Road Safety Event Grants strengthen public understanding of road safety principles and empower communities to take proactive steps toward reducing road-related incidents and fatalities.
