Deadline: 23-Oct-2025
The GEF Small Grants Programme (SGP) Fiji office has opened a new opportunity for local organizations to access support for community-led environmental initiatives.
This Call for Proposals invites groups across the country to submit project ideas that contribute to protecting and preserving Fiji’s natural environment.
Organizations eligible to apply include community-based groups, non-governmental organizations, non-profits, and local institutions. The programme seeks proposals that are innovative, practical, and capable of creating real impact at the community level. Successful proposals will align closely with the goals of the SGP and demonstrate a clear commitment to sustainable development.
Projects should focus on one of four key areas. These include promoting sustainable agriculture and fisheries, advancing access to low carbon energy solutions, developing sustainable urban systems, and improving waste management practices. Each focal area supports efforts that not only benefit the environment but also improve community wellbeing and resilience.
This is an important chance for grassroots organizations to access resources that can help bring their ideas to life. The GEF SGP emphasizes community ownership, environmental stewardship, and long-term sustainability in all supported projects. Interested applicants are encouraged to think creatively and propose solutions that are tailored to the specific needs of their communities.
The Call for Proposals represents more than just funding; it is a platform for collaboration, innovation, and progress. Local organizations with a vision for positive environmental change are encouraged to take part in this opportunity and contribute to a more sustainable future for Fiji.
