Deadline: 30-Sep-2025
The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Yerevan is inviting local non-profit organizations to apply for its annual Small Scale Development Projects for 2026.
This grant opportunity aims to support modest yet impactful development initiatives that align with Armenia’s national priorities. With each project funded by the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the program provides a hands-on chance for local NGOs to contribute to community development.
Funding ranges from 200,000 to 500,000 CZK — approximately 8,000 to 20,000 euros — which provides organizations with substantial support for implementing meaningful activities. Typically, one or two local projects are selected each year by the embassy, offering focused and effective engagement. Collaboration with Czech partners or adoption of Czech technology and know-how is encouraged, ensuring mutually beneficial cooperation.
Eligibility is limited to registered Armenian NGOs (non-profit entities) capable of entering into Czech-legal jurisdiction agreements. Universities, government agencies, and private businesses are excluded. Successful proposals should align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Czech development strategy, ideally concentrating on a single, clear activity rather than a broad set of unrelated actions.
Projects are expected to demonstrate cost-effectiveness, sustainability, and relevance to Armenia’s development needs. They must benefit at least one vulnerable group—such as youth, women, persons with disabilities, or isolated rural communities—and prioritize rural villages or small towns. Upon approval, projects can commence in March 2026 and must conclude, including billing, by October 31, 2026. Implementing organizations are responsible for delivering a final report and photo documentation upon completion.
The electronic version should include a completed identification form and registration certificate, and the hard copy must be stamped, signed, and delivered in a sealed envelope. This streamlined process ensures that the most eligible and impactful projects are funded to foster sustainable local development.
