Upon successful completion of the Fellowship, you will receive a readjustment allowance of ₹1,10,000. During the program, you will also receive a monthly allowance of ₹16,000 for living expenses, ₹2,000 for transport, ₹2,000 for project-related expenses, and ₹1,000 for professional learning and development.
The cost of a return 3AC train fare from your home to the project site and travel for training programs will be covered. Candidates from Nepal, Bhutan, and OCI are eligible for air travel reimbursement up to a pre-approved limit. A health and personal accident insurance policy will also be provided.
Additional support includes assistance from local NGO staff to help you find suitable and safe accommodation. The SBI Youth for India team will provide overall support and guidance and you will have access to mentorship from experienced professionals. You will also get access to the community through established partner NGOs and have linkages with premier organizations in the country.
To be a candidate for the program, you must have completed a Bachelor’s degree before October 1, 2025. You must be an Indian citizen, a citizen of Nepal or Bhutan, or an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI). Additionally, you must be between 21 and 32 years of age on the day the program starts.
The SBI Youth for India Fellowship has a two-stage application process for eligible candidates. Stage one is the Registration & Online Assessment. During this stage, you will complete a registration form and then a detailed essay-based online assessment. This essay is where you can share your story, perspectives, intentions for joining the Fellowship, and overall worldview.
Stage two is the Personal Interview. An esteemed panel will evaluate your personal characteristics and suitability for the role to gain a deeper understanding of you beyond your academic qualifications and work experience. If you are selected from this stage, you will be notified on a rolling basis via email and/or SMS, and an offer letter will be sent to you. The application closes on 11 September 2025.
