Deadline: 01-Dec-2025
The Tree Canada is pleased to announce applications for the Edible Trees Grant Program to help connect people with local food sources and builds community by planting trees and shrubs that produce fruits, nuts, seeds, berries, and pods.
The program offers both financial and logistical assistance to establish edible landscapes in publicly accessible spaces, helping to create long-term sources of fresh, nutritious food.
Eligible projects can receive up to $10,000 to cover a wide range of expenses. This includes the cost of purchasing and planting trees and shrubs, preparing the planting site, maintaining the trees, and acquiring necessary planting materials. The funding also supports the development of educational resources to help communities learn about food sustainability and tree care.
A variety of groups can apply for this grant, including schools, non-profits, community gardens, food banks, community housing initiatives, Indigenous communities, and municipalities. The goal is to empower local efforts to improve food access while fostering environmental and community resilience.
This initiative not only helps address hunger but also supports greener, more sustainable neighborhoods by encouraging collaboration and education around local food production.
