Deadline: 02-Oct-2025
Parkinson’s UK has launched the 2025 Physical Activity Grants Programme to support new or expanded initiatives that enable people with Parkinson’s to become and stay active.
People with Parkinson’s become and stay active, or significantly increase their levels of activity if they are already active. More physical activity provision for everyone with Parkinson’s across the UK. Improved social wellbeing in people with Parkinson’s as a result of attending the project. Help people with Parkinson’s become and stay active, or help people with Parkinson’s who are already active to significantly increase their levels of physical activity.
The grant is available to organisations, communities, networks, and activity providers that are committed to creating or expanding physical activity opportunities for people with Parkinson’s. Funding is aimed at innovative projects that are new or offer a significant expansion of an existing activity. Existing provisions will not be eligible unless they are clearly extended or adapted to better serve people with Parkinson’s.
Projects must run for a minimum of 12 weeks and a maximum of 52 weeks and should begin within 12 weeks of receiving the grant. The grant amount ranges from £500 to £3,000 and may cover up to 100% of eligible project costs. Capital costs are limited to £750 and core costs are capped at 10% of the total budget request.
Priority will be given to projects that engage a diverse range of people with Parkinson’s, especially those who are newly diagnosed, of young onset, socially isolated, from ethnic communities, not digitally connected, inactive, still working, or not already involved with Parkinson’s UK.
Applicants must be based in the UK and possess a business or community bank account. They must also provide necessary documentation, hold relevant qualifications, have insurance in place, and consult with their local Parkinson’s UK Area Development Manager before applying. The application process begins on 10 March 2025 and will continue until all funding is allocated.
Acceptable costs include new activity provision, equipment purchase or replacement, facility hire, coaching fees, training for sustainability, and structured online support for physical activity. Ineligible costs include existing provision without enhancement, personal trainer fees, transport, refreshments, and unrelated technology or competition expenses.
All successful applicants are required to complete interim and final project reports and may be selected for further evaluation by the grants team. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified via email and may appeal if they believe the decision was unfair. Reapplication is allowed while funding remains available, and further support may still be accessible through Parkinson’s UK Area Development Managers.
