The Auckland Council is pleased to announce a call for applications for the Puketapapa Local Grant Program.

Funding Priorities
The Council welcomes grant applications that align with the following priorities:
- The cultural diversity is valued and communities feel recognised and included.
- People want to learn about and contribute to their neighbourhoods and society.
- People know each other and feel safe and valued in their neighbourhoods.
- The local character and heritage is widely celebrated and reflected through arts, culture and language.
- They provide and promote opportunities and services that support healthy and active lifestyles.
- The community has the skills and knowledge to protect the local environment.
Funding Information
Grant value : $2000 – $6000
The Council will not fund:
- initiatives that are eligible for funding by central government
- applicants who have failed to complete or provide a satisfactory accountability form from previous grants
- applications towards alcohol or liquor licenses
- groups requesting funding the minimum or over the maximum set amount.
Eligible Priorities

The Council will prioritise projects that:
- demonstrate collaboration
- also look for other funding
- demonstrate match funding i.e. where grants are provided in exchange for equal amounts of volunteer labour, cash, or donated goods and services, up to the value of 40 per cent.
- address two or more of the Five ways of Wellbeing outlined by the Mental Health Foundation NZ
- support and promote volunteerism
- encourage people to engage with their wider community
- promote smokefree messages
- promote zero waste practices

support community resilience and recovery in response to the COVID-19 crisis and demonstrate:
- how a project will proceed at each COVID-19 alert level
- how a group will reach the more vulnerable in the community.

They have identified the following activities as lower priority:
- Programmes or events with entry fees.
- Projects or events that are outside the local board area.
- Air travel and overseas costs.
- Catering, gifts or prizes.
- Wages or operational costs with the exception of fees for professional and specialised services.
- Fundraising activities for a group or organization.
- Activities that primarily benefit a third party e.g. activity to gain money for an organisation.

Projects and activities in schools, unless you can demonstrate:
- benefit to the wider community
- accessibility to the public out of school hours
- a plan on how the project will be open to the wider community.
