Deadline: 19-Sep-2025
The Cornwall Community Foundation is inviting applications for the Goonhilly Wind Farm Community Fund to support local projects within the TR12 postcode. The fund is designed to benefit the community for every year the wind farm remains operational.
Grants range from £1,000 to £5,000 and aim to support good causes with a clear sustainability plan. Funding may be used for core costs like room hire and staff salaries if they are part of a specific project. However, the fund will not support the ongoing operational costs of an organisation.
Projects are expected to demonstrate sustainability and cannot rely entirely on the fund. The fund will not cover 100% of project costs and expects applicant groups to contribute financially in some way.
Support is typically not extended beyond two years. Projects or organisations located outside the TR12 postcode will not be eligible, nor will commercial entities, statutory bodies like schools or councils, or organisations with substantial financial reserves.
The fund does not support retrospective funding for projects already completed, endowment contributions, loan repayments, or deficit funding. Regional branches of national organisations that do not directly benefit local residents are also excluded, as are initiatives aiming to influence religious beliefs or promote political causes.
Eligible applicants include charities, community interest companies (CICs), and voluntary or community groups based in the TR12 postcode. Applications will only be considered if both the organisation and the proposed project serve people living exclusively in this area.
