The Community Initiatives Grant is a part of the Community Cultural Development (CCD) Investment Program which supports qualifying individuals, groups and organizations that offer high-quality arts and heritage initiatives for Port Coquitlam residents.
This grant is tailored for individuals, groups, or informal collectives without non-profit status who want to bring arts, heritage, or cultural experiences to Port Coquitlam residents. Applicants can receive up to $2,500 to help bring their creative ideas to life through accessible community-focused initiatives.
Successful projects under this grant will ideally serve the people of Port Coquitlam directly and inclusively. Examples could include everything from public art exhibitions paired with workshops to free community performances or cultural gatherings. The foundation encourages creative proposals that demonstrate both artistic value and community relevance.
Those applying should be prepared to commit to ethical standards, especially when engaging the public. This includes ensuring participant safety, such as holding insurance and following protocols when working with youth or Indigenous communities. It’s also important that recipients plan responsibly and submit financial documentation and a final report, while acknowledging support from both the foundation and the city in their promotional efforts.
This grant offers a valuable pathway for grassroots creators and cultural enthusiasts to enrich the local community through expressive, relevant, and accessible initiatives.
