Deadline: 03-Oct-2025
The Winwick Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund has been set up by Cubico Sustainable Investments to support projects that benefit residents in the parishes of Winwick,
Cold Ashby, West Haddon, and Guilsborough. This fund aims to provide grants for charitable, educational, environmental, and general community projects that improve the local area surrounding the wind farm. The fund will remain open throughout the lifetime of the Winwick Wind Farm, with Northamptonshire Community Foundation acting as the independent administrator.
The fund supports a variety of initiatives including training and volunteering schemes, development of pocket parks and green spaces, arts and heritage preservation, youth clubs, and safety programs. Projects can be new activities, startup costs for groups or services, or efforts that expand on existing community work.
Eligible applicants must be small, locally managed, voluntary, community, or self-help groups based in the named parishes. The fund welcomes both revenue and capital projects, offering grants up to £5,000, though larger awards may be considered in exceptional cases if funds allow. Groups should have volunteers involved beyond their management committees and must operate under a written set of rules or constitution. Support is available for new groups to help establish these.
Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of young or vulnerable participants is a key requirement. Groups must have child protection or vulnerable persons’ policies in place, alongside an equalities policy, to qualify for funding. This opportunity offers local organizations the chance to receive vital support to enhance their communities and promote social, environmental, and cultural benefits.
