Request for Proposals: Youth Development Fund (New Zealand)

The Napier Youth Council offers grants to support young people in their community, helping them achieve their personal goals and dreams. The funding is available in four categories: Sport, Art/Culture, Service/Leadership, and Other. Each year, Napier City Council sets aside $7,000 for this initiative, with individual grants typically ranging from $200 to $1,000.

To be eligible, applicants must be aged between 12 and 24, live in Napier, and be involved in a project or activity that supports their personal development. Applications must be for future projects, not ones that are already completed. Applicants are required to complete the forms themselves and must be open to having their photo used in promotional material if selected.

When assessing applications, the council considers how well the project aligns with the fund’s aims, the value for money, the impact on the community and the individual, and the likelihood of success.
