Deadline: 15-Aug-2025
The Copper Coast Council is inviting applications for its Community Grants Program, aimed at supporting projects that align with the Council’s Strategic Plan. Applicants must demonstrate how their projects reflect one or more of the themes: Cohesive, Sustainable, or Prosperous. These themes promote a welcoming and resilient community, environmental stewardship, and regional innovation and development.
The grant offers three funding tiers. Micro grants of up to $1,000 require no matching funds. Small grants between $1,000 and $5,000 require dollar-for-dollar matching. Medium grants from $5,000 to $10,000 require applicants to contribute $2 for every $1 from the Council.
Eligible projects should contribute to the Council’s objectives and be completed within 12 months from the funding approval date. Funding can cover reasonable project-related expenses such as materials, infrastructure, and planning. Projects should be inclusive, accessible, and conducted on community land under not-for-profit control.
Funding will not be provided for projects lacking a clear plan, completed projects, general operating expenses like rent or wages (except for insurance), exclusive activities, those on private or commercial property, or those already supported by ongoing government funding.
Eligible applicants include Copper Coast-based not-for-profit organisations with community benefit, possessing an ABN or completing a “Statement by a Supplier” form, and being incorporated with valid documentation. For facility upgrades, the organisation must own or lease the property and have consent from the landowner.
Grants will not be awarded to organisations in conflict with Council policy, those excluding community groups, indebted to or in legal conflict with Council, or involved in tobacco or alcohol production. Individuals are ineligible to apply, and organisations with multiple subgroups may only receive one grant per round depending on circumstances.
