Applications are now open for Small Grants aimed at raising awareness about the jurisdiction, court processes, and legal remedies of the GBV and Juvenile Courts in South Sudan. This initiative is led by UNDP to enhance public understanding of gender-based violence (GBV) and juvenile justice issues, while promoting access to justice through these specialized courts.
UNDP is seeking a capable Civil Society Organization (CSO), National NGO (NNGO), or Community-Based Organization (CBO) with an operational presence in Juba to lead this awareness campaign. The selected organization will be responsible for disseminating key information on the rights of access to justice and the roles of the GBV and Juvenile Courts in Juba.
The total funding available for this project is USD $20,000, and the project must be completed within six months. Applicants are expected to define their own results based on contextual analysis, with outcomes potentially including increased awareness among over one million people and a 5% rise in the number of cases handled by the courts due to improved awareness.
The project also aims to strengthen legal empowerment for women, girls, and communities affected by GBV, and to promote stronger advocacy for access to justice and legal remedies for survivors and juvenile offenders. Proposals should focus on both direct and indirect beneficiaries, such as GBV survivors, juvenile offenders, judicial officers, law enforcement, community leaders, policymakers, and relevant service providers.
Eligibility is determined using UNDP’s NGO Request for Information (RFI) template. NGOs that have already submitted the required RFI documentation do not need to resubmit.
