Deadline: 12-Oct-2025
Applicants are now invited to submit applications for Community Bank Griffith Grants.
The Community Grants Program administered by Community Bank Coleambally is an important opportunity for local community and not-for-profit organisations to access funding for projects that create genuine community benefit. The program supports initiatives that strengthen social outcomes, enhance community welfare, and make positive contributions across areas such as health, education, culture, and the environment.
The grants are guided by Bendigo Bank’s social purpose focus, which is built around the principle of “feeding into prosperity.” This commitment to positive social change is reflected in the types of projects encouraged, including those that foster animal welfare, promote community resilience, support digital innovation, assist with disaster recovery, and advance environmental and financial wellbeing. Initiatives in housing, health, learning, skills development, safety, social cohesion, and empowerment are also recognised as areas where meaningful impact can be made.
Eligibility for the program is limited to incorporated community and not-for-profit organisations. Groups that are not incorporated can still apply if they partner with an incorporated organisation that is willing to enter into the funding agreement and help deliver the project. Applicants must also hold a valid Australian bank account. Ineligible applicants include individuals, unincorporated organisations without a project partner, for-profit entities, and organisations that do not pass compliance requirements.
Grant funding can be used only for projects that align with the program’s outcomes. Activities that are commercial in nature, provide private benefit, or take place outside Coleambally and surrounding districts are not eligible. The program will also not fund projects linked to gambling, political donations, harm to animals, environmental hazards, violence, exclusion of community members, or any activities that compromise health, safety, or human rights. Funding cannot be used retrospectively for costs already incurred.
Applicants are expected to provide supporting documentation to demonstrate accountability and feasibility. For smaller grants under $10,000, this includes a bank statement, a project budget, and quotes for major expenses, along with optional letters of support to demonstrate community need. Projects involving children require Working With Children Checks for relevant personnel. For larger grants over $10,000, additional requirements apply, such as audited financial statements, detailed budgets, multiple quotes for significant items, project plans for construction or refurbishment, and letters of support confirming community benefit.
Through this program, Community Bank Coleambally is investing in projects that not only deliver immediate outcomes but also build long-term resilience and prosperity. By ensuring funds are directed toward initiatives that align with social purpose priorities, the program helps create stronger, more inclusive, and more sustainable communities.
