Deadline: 01-Oct-2025
The Visegrad Fund has opened its first call of 2025 for Visegrad Grants, offering a unique opportunity for organizations to foster regional collaboration across Central Europe.
Projects can focus on one or more of the fund’s seven thematic areas: culture and common identity, education and capacity building, innovation and entrepreneurship, democratic values and media, public policy and institutional partnerships, regional development and tourism, and social development. The Fund assesses applications based on value for money, relevance of project outcomes, and the experience of participating partners.
These grants support partnerships among NGOs, civic institutions, public bodies, municipalities, and research or educational institutions focused on cross-border cooperation and shared challenges.
Projects must involve organizations from at least three Visegrad countries—Czechia, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia—to qualify. In select cases, bilateral projects between neighboring V4 nations working on local border issues may also be eligible. Funded projects can run for up to 18 months, with grant amounts typically ranging between €25,000 and €35,000 and covering the entire project budget, including a 15% allowance for overhead.
A wide range of organizations are eligible to apply. Consortia must include at least two or more partners from different Visegrad countries, depending on the grant scheme. Eligible applicants include non-governmental and civil society organizations, municipalities and local governments, schools, higher education institutions, research and scientific bodies, and public institutions. Market actors such as companies, particularly innovation-driven businesses and startups, may also participate if the project is nonprofit in nature.
Certain applicants, however, are not eligible. These include institutions directly under state administration such as ministries, government agencies, embassies, state-funded cultural institutes, and state-owned companies. Natural persons and private entrepreneurs, regardless of whether they have a legal entity, are also excluded from applying.
This grant presents a valuable chance for organizations to build meaningful, cross-border initiatives that contribute to stronger regional cooperation and shared development goals in Central Europe.
