Deadline: 30-Sep-2025
The NAB Foundation offers a powerful opportunity for Australian community organisations seeking support in building resilience against natural disasters.
Each year the program distributes up to $1.2 million across two rounds, with individual grants reaching up to $25,000. For the most promising initiatives, there can be an additional Impact Grant boost, doubling the potential funding to $50,000. The focus is on empowering community-led efforts that help with practical planning, recovery, environmental rehabilitation, and infrastructure improvements in the face of fires, floods, cyclones, and other disasters.
Organisations such as registered charities, social enterprises, community groups with an ABN, and government-funded facilities like schools or childcare centres are all invited to apply, regardless of their scale or DGR status. A key aim is to support smaller organisations—those with annual income under $3 million and limited government funding—though larger groups with local, impactful projects are also welcome.
The types of projects that qualify span from educational workshops and strategic disaster planning to wildlife habitat restoration, infrastructure upgrades, and tools that strengthen community resilience. Since the program began in 2021, close to $5 million has already been awarded to almost 400 projects across Australia, offering a vital lifeline to grassroots responders and local volunteers working tirelessly in disaster-affected regions.
Through the NAB Foundation Community Grants, community-focused groups gain more than financial support; they receive a spark to ignite meaningful recovery, preparedness, and long-term resilience for communities across Australia. If your organisation is involved in work that helps communities withstand or bounce back from natural disasters, this opportunity could be a turning point.
