Deadline: 26-Sep-2025
Applications are now open for the United States-Japan Foundation Grant Program. This initiative supports projects that explore shared challenges and promote collaboration between the U.S. and Japan to address issues affecting both countries, the region, and the world.
Interested applicants must first submit a 3–4 page Letter of Inquiry (LOI) that clearly outlines the project’s goals. The LOI should explain how the project will strengthen U.S.-Japan relations or tackle a mutual challenge. Letters may be submitted in either English or Japanese.
Only applicants invited to proceed will be asked to submit a full proposal within 30 days. Uninvited proposals will not be accepted.
Full proposals must follow specific guidelines. The narrative portion—covering everything from the abstract to the section on the applying institution—should be approximately 4,000 words or fewer. Applicants may submit the proposal in either single- or double-spaced format.
All proposals must be written in English and submitted electronically. Hard copies are not required.
