Applications are now open for the Tantramar’s Community Development Grants Program, aimed at supporting local organizations and initiatives that contribute to community betterment.
The program seeks to ensure responsible spending of taxpayer funds while creating value and positive impact within the community. It supports community and sports organizations with their daily operational costs and promotes equity in the distribution of public development funds.
The goal is to enhance the quality, quantity, and accessibility of recreational opportunities. This is achieved by financially assisting groups in recreational, arts, and cultural initiatives, leadership development, and programming for all age groups.
There are four grant categories available. The 2026 Operational Grant offers assistance to local associations aligned with municipal priorities. The 2026 Small Capital Grant supports one-time purchases like building improvements or equipment. The 2026 Special Events/Projects Grant helps fund special events or new programming opportunities. The 2026 Sponsorship Grant supports smaller donation requests submitted during the annual budget process.
Priority is given to projects that encourage active and healthy lifestyles, artistic and cultural learning, sustainable community development, and stronger community connections. The program also supports leisure activities that promote personal growth, self-esteem, and resilience among residents.
