The Ireland Funds Great Britain is pleased to open its Annual Grant Round for applications from charities across Great Britain and Ireland for funding to support their work.
The objective of the grant round is to contribute much needed funds to organisations with projects supporting Community Development, Culture, Peace and Reconciliation and Education.
Priority Areas
- Community Development: They invest in local communities by supporting initiatives that contribute to:
- The avoidance of hardship by supporting vulnerable members of society, whether or not of Irish descent, and servicing basic/critical needs
- Peace: They support communities in Northern Ireland by prioritising initiatives that contribute to:
- The strengthening of cross-community relations
- The treatment and resolution of transgenerational trauma
- Assisting young people at risk across Northern Ireland’s communities.
- Education: They support programmes that contribute to:
- Reconnecting people of all ages with education and employment opportunities
- Reskilling and upskilling, in particular the older generation
- Culture: They support the promotion of arts and culture by prioritising initiatives that contribute to:
- Connecting communities with Irish culture and heritage
- Sharing Irish culture with the next generation and across communities
Funding Information
- Organisations may apply for funding between £/€1,000 and £/€10,000.
- It should be noted that the average grant awarded last year was £4,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Only not-for-profit and charitable organisations with an annual income of less than €/£1m can apply for funding. Organisations with an annual turnover exceeding this amount are not eligible for funding in this round.
- Grants will not be made to individuals.
- Organisations may submit only one application and applications should be submitted under one Funding Priority area only
- Applications must only be submitted electronically through their website. Hard copy or emailed applications will not be accepted.
- Only organisations based within Great Britain and the 32 counties of Ireland and Northern Ireland are eligible to apply.
- The project or activity for which you are seeking funding must take place within Great Britain and the 32 counties of Ireland.
- Grants will not be made to organisations for projects which have completed, or for the repayment of debt.
- Shortlisted applicants must provide a copy of the organisation’s governing document (e.g. Constitution, Memorandum of Articles of Association) and the most recent set of Audited Accounts or bank statements before a grant is drawn down.
- A specific sum of money must be sought (up to €10,000 or £10,000)
- Applications must be received by the deadline set on the website. Late applications will not be accepted under any circumstances.
