Deadline: 31-Aug-2025
The Gwendoline and Margaret Davies Charity is seeking applications for its Small Grants to support community-focused initiatives across Wales, with a particular emphasis on the arts, education, health, and social welfare.
Founded in honour of two sisters passionate about culture and public service, the charity continues to uphold their legacy by empowering local organisations that make a tangible difference in people’s lives.
The charity primarily supports small and local charities operating within Wales. It seeks to fund organisations that work closely with vulnerable or marginalised communities, as well as those delivering services in rural or disadvantaged areas. Arts organisations with a strong community focus are also encouraged to apply, especially if their work enhances cultural engagement in the region.
Grants of up to £2,000 are available. This approach ensures flexibility and regular access to funding, allowing organisations to apply when the timing aligns with their programme or operational needs.
To be eligible, applicants must be registered charities with a clear track record of delivering services in Wales. All activities supported by the grant must benefit people living in Wales. Larger organisations with annual incomes over £1 million are typically not considered, to ensure that funding prioritises smaller, community-rooted initiatives.
Through its grantmaking, the Gwendoline and Margaret Davies Charity helps to foster resilience, creativity, and wellbeing in communities across Wales. Its ongoing commitment ensures that the spirit of local service and artistic enrichment remains a vital part of Welsh civic life.
