Deadline: 21-Sep-2025
The Lincolnshire Community Foundation, in partnership with the South and East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership, is once again offering a significant opportunity for local organisations through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund GRASSroots Grant Fund.
This new round, open into 2025 and 2026, seeks to support grassroots efforts that aim to rejuvenate and strengthen the social fabric of communities across Boston Borough, East Lindsey, and South Holland. At its core, the fund is designed to help restore vital community spaces and foster local pride by backing initiatives that enhance connection and wellbeing at a neighbourhood level.
This funding round is targeted at not-for-profit community groups, charities, social enterprises, and town or parish councils working within Boston Borough. The grants available are substantial—up to £24,999 for projects in Boston Borough and East Lindsey, and up to £10,000 for those in South Holland. These grants can cover both capital and some revenue costs, with a strong preference for capital projects that bring lasting improvements to community infrastructure.
The kinds of projects eligible for support are wide-ranging but must align with the Fund’s overarching goals. These include improvements to community buildings, better access to community transport, initiatives that unite residents through arts, culture or heritage, volunteering efforts, cost-of-living relief, digital access enhancements, and local regeneration. Projects that build long-term community resilience and sustainability are also encouraged, as are those that contribute meaningfully to reducing social isolation or inequality.
There are, however, some clear boundaries around what cannot be funded. These include projects that exceed local grant thresholds, activities with religious or political aims unless demonstrably inclusive, capital work on private homes, and applications from individuals, schools, or organisations without a strong local delivery track record. Additionally, any project that cannot demonstrate completion and impact by February 2026 will not be considered.
Applicants are required to provide a minimum of 20% match funding for projects costing over £5,000, which can come from financial sources or in-kind contributions.
Once submitted, applications undergo a review and assessment phase before being presented to a panel. Most applicants will be notified of the outcome within six weeks. Successful applicants will receive their funding either in arrears or, where necessary, in advance or through staged payments. All funded projects must conclude and report on their outcomes by the end of February 2026.
For those considering applying, it is advised to read the Grant Guidelines carefully and, if needed, discuss project ideas with the Fund Manager. This initiative is more than just financial support—it’s a chance to make a tangible difference in local communities by building places where people feel connected, empowered, and proud to belong.
