Program of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Ukraine announces a set of pilot program of innovation development “Co-create with Locals” ( eng. “Spivtvorymo with the local community” ) and invites community activists from all over Ukraine to contribute to developing long-term solutions to increase positive change in communities.
The program is launched by UNDP under the United Nations Peacebuilding and Peacebuilding Program in conjunction with the SoftServe Innovation Development Platform, the UNDP Innovation Development Laboratory, the Network of Working Groups on Public Safety and Social Cohesion with financial support from the European Union and the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The main goal of the Co-create with Locals program is to teach community activists to effectively use design thinking, audience research, crowdsourcing, and experimentation to implement innovative yet practical community development ideas.
The program provides a three-month course that will include:
- Online meetings, lectures and webinars on the Zoom platform and collaboration using the Miro and Mural platforms, as well as other services;
- Joint creative activities on the online innovation development platform SoftServe, where selected participants will be able to practice using specific tools for creating, developing and testing ideas;
- Conducting applied research in communities to test the effectiveness of ideas and hypotheses;
- Mentoring and feedback for each team to be provided by leading Ukrainian experts.
Who are they looking for?
- They are looking for leaders and activists of public organizations of Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhia, Luhansk, Mykolayiv, Sumy, Kherson and Chernihiv regions who are enthusiastic and motivated to work systematically and diligently with their own ideas and are ready to experiment.
What is the result?
- Each participant will work on their own innovative project and will have the opportunity to present it to the mentors, as well as receive a certificate of completion from the UN Program for Reconstruction and Peacebuilding and partners.
- They are convinced that the graduates of this practical course will turn their ideas into innovative projects for the development of their own communities.
