Deadline: 25-Aug-2025
Dublin Rural LEADER is inviting applications for a Targeted Call for Feasibility Studies to support innovative ideas that can positively impact rural communities, farms, or businesses in Dublin. The call focuses on four key themes aimed at promoting sustainable, inclusive, and future-oriented rural development.
Under the Green Economy theme, they are seeking ideas that support a climate-conscious, low-carbon future. This could include projects related to renewable energy like solar, wind, or biomass, circular economy models, eco-friendly products, community composting, and zero-waste initiatives.
The Agricultural Diversification theme targets those who want to go beyond traditional farming. Projects might include agri-tourism, farm shops, artisan food production, on-farm renewable energy, smart agriculture technology, and regenerative farming, among other innovative ventures.
For Rural Infrastructure, the focus is on developing facilities and services that enhance rural living. This includes shared workspaces, improved rural transport, accessibility and inclusion efforts, better digital or physical connectivity, and active travel solutions that build community resilience.
The Social, Community & Cooperative Enterprises theme supports community-led services and initiatives that provide social value. Potential projects might involve local food networks, repair cafés, identifying gaps in local services, and forming community partnerships.
Applicants can receive up to 90% funding, with a maximum of €30,000, to assess the viability of their proposed projects. The funding is meant to support feasibility studies, helping applicants test their ideas, understand market demands, estimate costs, evaluate risks, and plan for long-term sustainability with expert guidance.
Eligible applicants include individuals, sole traders, small and medium-sized enterprises, community and voluntary groups, social enterprises, cooperatives, and farm businesses. To apply, the applicant must be located within the Dublin Rural LEADER area.
