Deadline: 14-Aug-2025
The Vital for Berkshire fund is designed to support charities, community groups, and projects that address the most urgent issues affecting communities in Berkshire. The fund adapts to meet changing local needs over time.
Applications are welcome from groups working in areas such as physical and mental health, support for young or vulnerable people, reducing isolation, tackling poverty, promoting equality, and other critical local issues.
Grants of up to £5,000 are available, depending on the availability of funds.
To qualify, applicants must be a not-for-profit, voluntary or community group, social enterprise, CIC, or registered charity actively improving the lives of disadvantaged people in Berkshire. Eligible groups must have a governing document, a management committee or board of trustees, and a bank account with at least two unrelated cheque signatories.
Applicants must also be able to provide up-to-date financial accounts, have submitted evaluation reports for any past grants, and have current safeguarding and equality policies in place. Projects must show clear community benefit, demonstrate a need, and not duplicate existing services.
Groups are ineligible if they are national charities without a local, independently managed Berkshire branch. Grants cannot be used for medical research or projects focused on plant conservation or animal welfare.
