The People Powered is now offering a unique mentorship program called Rising Stars, designed to strengthen participatory democracy efforts worldwide.
The program connects advocates, civil society actors, government officials, and program managers with experienced mentors who provide guidance on launching, refining, or scaling participatory programs.
Once selected, mentees participate in an orientation session and are matched to a mentor or mentoring group based on program needs, language, and geography. Over a six-month period, they engage in up to five one-hour calls, where they discuss program challenges, design strategies, and set goals collaboratively with their mentor. The mentorship is flexible and tailored to each participant’s context and priorities.
People Powered conducts four application cycles each year, enabling multiple cohorts of participants to apply. The program is open globally and aims to support diverse efforts—whether in governments, communities, or civil society—to innovate in participatory decision-making and civic engagement.
By offering focused, expert-led support, Rising Stars helps organizations and governments overcome barriers in public participation, embed inclusive practices, and scale impact.
