Fondo Lunaria is pleased to announce its call for proposals for the Freedom and Democracy program that seeks to support organizations and/or groups led by women and/or young trans people who work for the rights of women and the LGBTQ Community.
Lunaria is a feminist Fund that mobilizes resources to support collectives and grassroots organizations of women and young trans people who work autonomously for the full exercise of their citizenship, as subjects of rights and actors in the construction of a country in peace and justice. social, free of machismo, racism, classism, ableism and LGBTI+phobia.
In recent years, fundamentalist discourses from political, religious sectors and social groups that question the freedom and autonomy of women and trans people have been on the rise, denying and questioning rights through bills, public actions and media actions that endanger the recognition and guarantee for the free exercise of sexual and reproductive rights, the secular character of states, academic freedom, comprehensive sexual education, in addition to promoting a political agenda that seeks to impose a single way of constructing family relationships. For this reason, they trust in the strength of young people who weave networks and strengthen forms of resistance, freedom and democracy, in a country that limits the guarantees for life and ignores other ways of existing from difference.
Focus Areas
- This call seeks to support forty (40) organizations and/or groups (with or without legal status) led by women and/or young trans people who work in any of the following emphases:
- Promotion and defense of sexual and reproductive rights; the autonomy of bodies; the right to abortion, access and dissemination of Sentence C-055 of 2022; the right to pleasure and enjoyment of the body; as well as the promotion and defense of comprehensive sexual education.
- Promotion and defense of the rights of LBTIQ+ people; the right to live without prejudice, stigma and violence based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
- The human rights of families in all their diversity and families as spaces of care, self-care and well-being.
- Counter fundamentalist discourses and ultra-conservative narratives that go against the defense and enjoyment of human rights and democracy for the transformation of practices and social imaginaries of discrimination and structural violence such as racism, transphobia, machismo, lesbophobia, biphobia, xenophobia, classism, etc.
Funding Information
- Each proposal to be financed must budget a total of $19,500,000 Colombian pesos, to be executed within a maximum of 6 months from its approval.
Eligibility Criteria
- At Fondo Lunaria they emphasize the need to continue building broad feminisms that recognize diversity and difference, feminisms that are built with trans people, peasants, indigenous people, black people, people with functional diversity, with diverse sexual orientations and gender identities and from all possible scenarios.
- All groups or organizations of women and young trans people, feminists, peasants, Afro-Colombian, indigenous, urban or with functional diversity (between 16 and 29 years old) that work in favor of the rights of women and trans people are invited to participate. from any region of Colombia.
- In the case of mixed organizations, priority will be given to proposals that prove to be prepared, presented, led and developed by women and young trans people in the organization.
- All proposals must be coordinated by women or young trans people (between 16-29 years old), and may be aimed at any type of population.
- Groups or organizations that may or may not have legal status will be supported.
- Priority will be given to groups or organizations that have less access to resources. It is not exclusive that the applicant groups or organizations have previously received support from the Lunaria Fund or are currently being supported.
