The Foreign Ministry has launched a grant project competition “Support for development cooperation projects in the beneficiary countries defined by the Republic of Latvia” which aims to support development cooperation projects in the European Union’s Eastern Partnership countries – Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, as well as the Central Asian states – Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, in accordance with the Development Cooperation Policy.
Funding Information
- The minimum amount of grant that can be awarded for the implementation of the project is EUR 20 000
(Twenty thousand euros). - The maximum grant amount that may be granted to the project shall be EUR 40 000 (Forty thousand euros).
- The project applicant may submit a project proposal with a budget greater than the maximum grant amount, provided that:
- Project applicant undertakes to cover part of the project’s budget amounts from its own financial resources, but the Ministry provide the remaining project budget the necessary funds, up to a maximum amount of the grant;
- the project’s successful co-operation partner in the recipient country undertakes to cover part of the project’s budget amounts, but the Ministry provide the remaining project budget the necessary funds, up to a maximum amount of the grant;
- The direct and indirect authorities of the Republic of Latvia, local governments, other state institutions as well as registered associations, foundations, merchants and trade unions can apply for the competition.
- The project applicant must have at least one partner in the beneficiary country.
- Project applicant attracts other co-financers in the project, which will be covered by part of the project’s budget amounts, but the Ministry provide the remaining project budget the necessary funds, up to a maximum grant amount.
- If the draft budget for co-financing the project applicant in the application indicates the exact amount of
co-financing, financing sources and the amount of what is required from the Ministry.
Eligibility Criteria
- The direct and indirect authorities of the Republic of Latvia, local governments, other state institutions as well as registered associations, foundations, merchants and trade unions can apply for the competition.
- The project applicant must have at least one partner in the beneficiary country.
