Deadline: 10-Sep-2025
The British Council has announced a call for proposals for Jordanian Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to support the implementation of its flagship Youth Connect programme across Jordan.
This opportunity is designed for organisations with a strong focus on youth and women’s empowerment, countering online polarisation and hate speech, and advancing governance and accountability initiatives.
Youth Connect aims to equip young people, including women and individuals with disabilities, with the confidence, skills, and opportunities to become leaders of positive change within their communities. By enhancing resilience, promoting civic participation, and fostering collaboration with key stakeholders, the programme supports youth-led community development and long-term inclusion.
The programme seeks CSOs with proven experience in youth empowerment and engagement. Eligible organisations must be officially registered in Jordan, have a physical presence in the country, and demonstrate a strong track record of managing similar initiatives. They are expected to show capacity in financial and project management, outreach to marginalised groups, and commitment to equality and inclusion. Each selected partner will need to provide a dedicated team of at least two to three members, including a project manager, facilitator, and mentor, to ensure successful programme delivery.
Grants available under this initiative range between £15,000 and £30,000 per organisation. Applications for projects focused only on the Youth Connect Learning Journey can request up to £15,000, while those integrating digital resilience and countering online hate speech can apply for grants between £20,000 and £30,000. Funding will be provided in local currency and disbursed according to British Council requirements, with the potential for extension based on progress and availability of resources.
Projects must begin no later than October 2025 and conclude by March 2026. In addition to financial support, selected organisations will benefit from induction sessions, training, and mentoring provided by the British Council and expert facilitators. These activities will ensure that projects are implemented to a high standard and contribute meaningfully to the empowerment of young people across Jordan.
Through this programme, the British Council is working to ensure young people in Jordan, particularly women and those from marginalised backgrounds, can actively engage in shaping their communities, strengthening social cohesion, and building a more inclusive and resilient future.
