Deadline: 11-Aug-2025
The Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) is inviting civil society organisations in Moldova to apply for funding under the UK-funded Building Resilience in the Eastern Neighbourhood II (BREN II) programme.
This programme is focused on improving human security for women and other marginalised groups across the Eastern Neighbourhood through civil society action. IWPR seeks impactful projects that support peacebuilding, inclusion, and resilience in Moldovan communities.
Thematic priorities include Women, Peace & Security (WPS), where projects should promote gender-responsive justice, address gender-based violence, and support women’s meaningful participation in peace and security efforts. Another priority is Social Cohesion and Trust-Building, encouraging stronger ties among Moldova’s diverse communities and combatting hate speech, disinformation, and external threats. A cross-cutting focus on Inclusive Practice and Intersectionality is required to ensure project design includes perspectives of gender, age, ethnicity, disability, and migration status.
Grants range from GBP 30,000 to 50,000 for projects lasting up to 9 months, with all activities to be completed by 31 May 2026.
Eligible activities include producing educational, media, or advocacy materials, engaging with government or local institutions, conducting community work with vulnerable groups, building organisational or stakeholder capacity, and forming impactful partnerships and coalitions.
Preference will be given to organisations working in Gagauzia and the Security Zone, and those led by women, youth, IDPs, ethnic or religious minorities, or LGBTQI+ communities. IWPR also encourages applications from newly formed organisations and those based outside Chișinău, especially in border areas.
