Deadline: 25-Sep-2025
The Wiltshire & Swindon Community Foundation is offering Older People’s Programme to support targeted projects that promote independence, wellbeing, and social inclusion among older adults aged 65 and above.
Through its Older People’s Programme, local organizations can apply for grants ranging from £1,000 to £5,000 annually for one or two years, with larger-scale initiatives eligible for single-year funding of up to £10,000.
The Foundation seeks to enhance health outcomes, reduce loneliness, and improve access to essential services for seniors. Eligible projects might include training programs, caregiver respite services, befriending schemes, intergenerational technology support, arts and recreational activities, and practical support for individuals facing illness, disability, or bereavement.
To qualify, projects must primarily benefit residents of Wiltshire or Swindon, with at least 90% of participants aged 65 or over. The Foundation acknowledges the additional challenges caused by the cost-of-living crisis and the impact of the pandemic, and encourages applications that help adapt services accordingly. Priority is given to grassroots organizations serving areas of greatest need and reaching underrepresented populations.
Grassroots flexibility is a hallmark of this programme—applicants new to fundraising receive personalized support, including follow-up calls to guide them through the application process. This inclusive approach ensures that impact-driven groups, even without extensive grant experience, can confidently and successfully apply.
This programme offers a valuable opportunity for local groups to secure funding and guidance to strengthen services for older residents—allowing communities across Wiltshire and Swindon to innovate, adapt, and support their elders where it matters most.
